Have you seen new pictures assigned to various contacts added to your google talk? Did you ever wonder, how did such features get added? Look into your \Program Files\Google folder, and you will see several updates Google Talk has downloaded and installed (even without your knowledge). What do you think about it? is it a good way of implementing something?

Yahoo Widgets

All the while, I used to see the MacOS X widget pictures on Apple's website, I used to feel so sad. Wanted to get one for myself on Windows. Yahoo made it possible. check it out at widgets.yahoo.com.

Firefox 1.5 is a major improvement over previous versions. Finally it has replaced IE as my default brower.

Get it now.

Paint.Net

So, What software do you use to paint the pictures? I started with Paintbrush on Windows 3.1.1, and then designed my own. I have also used GIMP. and I think it was cool. But at the end of the day, it was a port. Not designed for windows.

Check out Paint.NET. It is available at http://www.eecs.wsu.edu/paint.net/ and it is free. I think it is a cool editor, in spite of Microsoft Technologies, used by it. :)

Wikipedia has taken shine off my blog. I have started updating articles there, rather then trying to shoot from hip at my blog. Hopefully, it helps someone.

Mac OS X on a Dell?

Here I am waiting to run Mac OS X on my Laptop, and Steve Jobs is saying no.... He don't gedddit? Probably, he wants to retain a monopoly on his Apples and does not want them to be shared!

Or may be he did not get it after all. A company can be a software company or a hardware company, but not everything. There are so many who tried to be everything and have not been very successful, IBM, Sun, HP... And Apple itself once upon a time...

It is time to choose Mr. Jobs.

Using CVS

I had some painful experience with CVS, or rather WinCVS to be very precise. Somehow, I found the guide and the way it works, too Geeky ( Now I have stopped considering myself a geek, especially after using WinCVS).

Finally, I found a tool that was easy to work with. And it is also a freeware... TortoiseCVS. It is a cool tool, makes it easy to use. Best of it was, I could make my team motivate and use CVS (they dreaded using WinCVS.) Check it out here .
